In the heart of Savoie, OMNES Education’s 5,000 m² campus offers its INSEEC Bachelor and MSc students a welcoming hall where they can meet. Where to stay in Chambéry during your studies?

Student residences and campuses are the most popular housing solutions. They have the advantage of allowing students to save money, while still offering sufficient comfort. Accommodation in a student residence costs between 300 and 550 euros per month.

However, getting a place in a student residence can be complicated. Selection is based on applications, and priority is often given to students with scholarships.

Transportations

Chambéry

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights to Chambéry airport apart from daily connections to Paris and special ski flights during the winter season.

Some airlines may include a connection from Paris, but there are only 2 flights per day.

From one of the following international airports, Lyon St Exupéry airport or Geneva international airport (Switzerland), you can also land in Paris.

Lyon St Exupéry Airport

Many international airlines offer flights to and from Lyon.

To get to or from Lyon airport, a direct shuttle bus runs to downtown Chambéry five times a day. The journey takes one hour. The price of a single trip is about €20.

Geneva International Airport

You can reach this airport by train in 2 hours for about €20.

However, if you arrive in Geneva in the evening, you may miss the last connection to Chambéry.

There is also a shuttle from the airport five times a day.

By train

Getting to Chambéry from Paris:

Chambéry is well connected to Paris by TGV.
You can :

  • Take a direct TGV from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport to Lyon Part Dieu station (about 2.5 hours) and then a local train to Chambéry (1.5 hours)
  • Or go to the Gare de Lyon (located in the center of Paris) to take a direct train to Chambéry (3 hours)

The cost in both cases is about €70 for a one-way trip.

By bus

You can get to Chambéry from most European cities with Flixbus.

By car

Travelling to Chambéry with one person or a group of people will save you money on transport costs. You can sign up for a carpool on the Blablacar website, looking for a driver who will be going in the same direction as you.
